NS (National Service) Admin with AI

Every male Singapore citizen and permanent resident serves National Service under the Enlistment Act. The paperwork starts early: registration for NS happens when you turn 16 and a half, and enlistment is scheduled at the earliest opportunity after you turn 18. Full-time NS is about two years, and after that comes Operationally Ready NS (ORNS) — up to 40 days a year of training until age 40 for most ranks, or 50 for officers. Deferment of full-time NS can be granted for full-time GCE A-Level or polytechnic diploma studies if you meet CMPB conditions, but it is generally not granted for university courses — most Singaporeans serve NS before university.
